Product goal?
Convert any existing pickup truck with solid axles to electric drive with diesel generator – no range anxiety. We are creating a crate delivered, pre-assembled & tested kit – installed & serviced by Edison dealers throughout North America.
What is the production timeline?
We are going to build the first production prototype based on Topsy’s power electronics. Estimated prototype completion by mid 2025. Once testing is successful, we will begin kit roll out with dealers. We estimate entering production by mid 2026.
What is the Estimated cost of a retrofit kit?
Depending on options, the kit will ideally retail for a third to half the cost of a new pickup. Fuel savings of 30% anticipated, helping drive economics.
What do I get for reserving a kit?
You help fund the development of a pickup truck kit from Edison Motors. You reserve a place in line to purchase a kit when they become available (transferable but not refundable). You get project specific merch – Kit name will be voted. The amount for the reservation is deducted from final purchase price.
Are kits only for sale in Canada?
The Kits will be exclusively distributed in Canada & The United States following production in 2025. We anticipate growing our dealership network internationally, driven purely from demand.
What additional steps are required after signing up to become a dealer?
Attend Edison Motors training session(s), have the facility & tools adequate to perform pickup truck conversions, purchase a minimum of 1 kit to be trained & certified on conversions. First build be inspected by Edison Motors technicians at dealer’s facility. Must uphold Edison Quality Standards & Register all kits installed for serviceability.
What do I receive from being a dealer of pickup kits/parts?
Ability to officially represent Edison Motors as a supplier, sell Edison trucks in your area, install retrofit kits, sell pickup kits and retrofitted pickups. Become a parts distributor for Edison EV components in you area and be approved to service and work on Edison trucks.
